KB0024: How do I convert my document from PDF?

PDF is principally an output format and it is hard to convert to an editable format with good results. Jutoh cannot convert directly from PDF, so you will need to convert a PDF to a format it can understand, such as Word (DOCX), ODT or Epub.

If you have Calibre installed, you can import a PDF file (Calibre converts it to Epub, and Jutoh imports from the Epub), but the results may not be very satisfactory. It's better to import from DOCX or ODT if you have your work in these formats or you can convert it to one of these formats. You can use the free OpenOffice or LibreOffice suite to convert from a variety of formats to Word (DOCX) or ODT.

You could try converting your document from PDF to Word using an third-party application or an online service such as altoconvertpdftoword.com. You might also have some success opening the PDF in Word 2013 or above and saving as DOCX, although for complex documents, not all elements will be converted to text.
