KB0052: Why does the table of contents (TOC) only appear in the finished ebook, and not in the Jutoh project?

See also: Building a table of contents in the Jutoh manual

Unless you specify otherwise, Jutoh creates a simple table of contents from the section titles of your book, when it creates the ebook.

If you would like more control over the table of contents and would like to see (and perhaps edit) it in your project, click on Format | Book | Build Table of Contents and ask Jutoh to create the table of contents from the headings in the project. This assumes that your heading styles are consistently applied, for example "Heading 1" for level 1 headings, "Heading 2" for level 2 headings, and so on. A new section will be created, which you can edit.

If you do edit the TOC, clear the option to automatically recreate the TOC or your changes will be lost.
