KB0268: Why does my book cover not appear on my Kindle after sideloading?

If your cover thumbnail does not appear in your Kindle device after uploading a book via USB or by emailing it to your device, this is normal behaviour, albeit less than ideal. This is simply a feature of the Kindle. It will not affect the display of your cover as a thumbnail in books that customers download.
