KB0384: How can I get my image captions to align with the image?

See also: How do I keep a caption on the same page as its image?

To keep the caption to the same width as the picture, you could set the width of the containing box to, say, 60%, and ensure the picture has no size set. Then the picture and text will both size to the box width. If centre alignment is required, all three relevant paragraph styles should contain centre alignment: the paragraph containing the picture, the paragraph containing the caption, and the paragraph containing the box.

Alternatively, you could set left and right margins on the text, so this way you could do without the box, but the text width might not entirely align with the picture.

Or, you could use a text box just for the caption, and set the width of the box to a percentage of the display size, e.g. 60%.
