KB0413: Why does Jutoh warn about missing section tags when generating DAISY books?

When generating a DAISY file, Jutoh must add 'level' tags for each document in the project, including chapters, table of contents, title page, and so on. Jutoh achieves this by adding 'section' tags when compiling, based on heading styles, and then converting these to DAISY 'level' tags.

By default, Jutoh will already add section tags for "Heading 1" styles. If you find that some documents in your project generate a missing section tag warning, follow these steps:

  1. Find or create a suitable named style for the heading in this document. For a title page, you might create a "Title" style and apply it to the title. The heading needs to be the first text on the page. If the first element is a graphic, you will need to a add text title in front of it. You can use conditional formatting to have this only appear in your DAISY file if needed.

  2. Go to the Accessibility options in your project - click Edit on the toolbar, then click Accessibility.

  3. Click Add to add a mapping using the paragraph style you used above, such as Title, and set it to add the section tag above the heading.

  4. Edit your DAISY configuration and find the option Heading style prefix. Ensure that all the title styles you added are included in this value, for example: "Heading*|Title|TOC Heading". This allows Jutoh to mark these as headings.

  5. Click OK and compile again.
