KB0067: How do I upload my book to Amazon and other services?

Jutoh creates an ebook file: for Epubs, it will have extension .epub, and for Kindle, it will have extension .mobi. It's then up to you to put that file somewhere. Each distributor (Amazon, Kobo, Smashwords, Apple and so on) has a different way to do this but in general you will log on to their site and follow the instructions for uploading your files.

These are some example web sites where authors or publishers upload their books:

You can use a service such as Smashwords or Draft2Digital to upload to a whole bunch of distributors, rather than signing up to each one. It's common to mix and match, for example uploading to Amazon directly, and then using Smashwords or Draft2Digital to distribute to all the other major ebook stores.

Most distributors ask you to upload a separate cover file at a much higher resolution that the one that Jutoh incorporates in the ebook itself. You can create the new cover image yourself, or you can use File | Export | Cover Design to export a cover with a custom size.

You can of course upload your book to your own web site, using an ftp upload tool such as FileZilla.
