Working with embedded fonts in the Jutoh manual

Yes, you can create Hindi or Tamil books by embedding a suitable font. If that font is different from the one installed on the computer Jutoh is running on, then you can use the Font substitutions configuration option to translate from the font name you're using in styles, to the name in the Family field of your embedded font document.

Specify the hi language in the project metadata.

As of June 2016, a Jutoh Hindi book has been found to be compatible with the following platforms.

Epub:

Works: Bluefire Reader for Windows, AZARDI for Windows, Calibre for Windows, Icecream Reader for Windows, Kobo Desktop for Windows, Adobe Digital Editions for Windows, Nook for PC, Apple Books, Kobo for iOS, Kobo Aura H20.

Doesn't work: Nook for iOS.

Kindle:

Works: Kindle for iOS, Kindle for PC, Kindle Previewer (e-Ink/Voyage mode), Kindle for Android, Kindle Paperwhite.

On Kindle Previewer (Fire modes), Hindi or Tamil characters show but are poorly spaced. The assumption is that Kindle Previewer is buggy and the problem won't exist on real platforms.
