KB0255: Why does Word or LibreOffice crash when I paste an image copied from Jutoh?

Microsoft Word

PNG images in the editor or a clip library are copied to the clipboard as PNG as well as a normal bitmap. While this can lead to better to results when pasting into some programs such as LibreOffice, since transparency can be honoured, it can crash Word 2010 (and perhaps other versions).

To avoid this, go to Preferences/Advanced and clear the option Copy PNG images.

LibreOffice

Some versions of LibreOffice on Linux can crash when pasting an image copied from Jutoh, whether or not Jutoh is copying a PNG in addition to the bitmap.

To work around this, first paste the image into an image editing program such as GIMP or Nomacs; then copy and paste from that into LibreOffice.
