KB0293: How can I update my images from external files?

You may wish to automate aspects of image creation, or maintain your 'master images' on disk instead of within Jutoh. Jutoh provides the command File | Import | Import Updated Images, which replace pictures within the Jutoh project with the updated images on disk.

To do this, ensure each image or drawing object has a root name to which a file extension can be appended to form the image to be imported. For example, your image name could be "Map Image 1", so that "Map Image 1.png" will be imported using Import Updated Images.

You will be prompted for a folder containing all the updated images. Missing image files will be silently ignored, but you will be told how many images were updated.

This works for the following extensions:

gif, jpg, jpeg, png, tif, tiff, svg, mathml

Currently only reflowable documents are supported, and not fixed layout pages.
