KB0355: Can I import an old Word file in DOC format?

Jutoh imports DOCX Microsoft Word files, but doesn't directly import old DOC Microsoft Word files.

However, it's straightforward to remedy this. If you don't have a copy of Microsoft Word that can save a DOCX file, download a copy of LibreOffice. Open the DOC file in LibreOffice Writer, and save as DOCX (or ODT if you prefer).

Now you can import the DOCX into Jutoh. To import, you can click Convert on the toolbar and select the file, or, if you wish to have more control over import settings, click New on the toolbar or on the File menu and follow the instructions.

If the Word DOCX file doesn't initially show in the file selection dialog, change the filter to Word Files (*.docx). On Mac, you may need to click Options to see the available filters.
