KB0376: Why does Jutoh report a style name clash when compiling?

When compiling an Epub, Kindle or HTML file, you may see an error message like this:

ERROR (Jutoh): the automatic style 'P_P_Normal__And__Left_Indent + Line Spacing' clashes with the named style 'P_P_Normal__And__Left_Indent__And__Line_Spacing' because they are both converted to the HTML style name 'P_P_P_Normal__And__Left_Indent__And__Line_Spacing'.

This can happen if you previously imported a Jutoh-generated Epub or HTML file into Jutoh, so that automatic styles become regular named styles, and then actual automatic styles get converted to names that clash with regular named styles. A tell-tale sign of this import/export problem is style prefixes such as "P_" in your Jutoh style sheet, or multiple prefixes if you have exported/imported multiple times.

You can fix the problem by enabling Abbreviate style names in your configurations, so simple names are generated that don't have the opportunity of clashing. Also, reducing direct formatting and cleaning up your styles in Jutoh can help prevent this.
